Do cities matter?

They do in elections! And they do to the heart of God!

Until you can observe the need, you will never minister to the condition.

Do you see cities as nighttime playgrounds for the young or rich? Do you see cities as places of contamination, void of morals and filled with darkness? Or do you see cities for the supernatural potential of our God to transform and deliver?

"Jesus came to seek and save the lost" (Luke 19:10). Our cities are lost in their thinking, seeking and craving.

In the past two weeks, I found myself crying over far more than elections results. My heart was and is crying out for revival! I am praying a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit for Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Philadelphia and many more.

As I focus my heart on revival, it is filled with words from Matthew 9:36: "But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted and were scattered, like sheep without a shepherd."

Our cities need revival!

Our creation story starts in a garden, the Garden of Eden, and it ends in the city, the New Jerusalem, a holy city.

The glaring lights of the world looked with skepticism at big cities as votes were counted. Across the United States, we scrutinized the fierce battle, and once again, it came down to cities. In an atmosphere of unending wordy speculation, will the people of the living God humble themselves and ask God for a prophetic word for these cities?

Jesus, the prophet, was naturally supernatural. He always brought a refreshing sense of truth-filled reality. He never used words like, I think so, perhaps or maybe. His words were practical, stirring up gifts of world-changing possibilities.

Jesus wept over Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit is hovering over the great cities, towns and communities of America.

Let our prayers fill with tears before the throne of His grace, as actions of faith are salt and light. God give us revival now!

Hear our cry for spiritual awakening, a spiritual shaking and a spiritual loosening.
