"See, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not be aware of it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert" (Isaiah 43:19, MEV).
It's time to make room in your life for the "new" that God wants to do in you and through you. If your gaze is perpetually fixed on the rearview mirror, you will be unable to move ahead into the plans and purposes of God that are strategic for all that lies ahead of you.
It's time to let go of old systems and out-of-date habits!
It's time to leave behind unhealthy relationships and disabling addictions!
It's time to lay aside the "good" in order to prepare for God's "best"!
It's time.
It's time for a new work to spring forth but the "new of God" will never happen until "the way that things used to be" ceases taking priority and precedence.
Until the determinate has been made to cease treasuring the things of the past, the "new" that God has planned will not be loosed to spring forth! I believe that often God is waiting for His children to cooperate with Him in the birthing of something new but the children whom He loves so dearly are unable to give birth to His plans until the old has been set aside.
It's time to set aside former mindsets and ancient failures.
It's time to forget previous structures and antiquated customs.
It's time.
The great exchange that must take place is that you give God your old ... and He lavishes you with His new!
The glory of this great exchange is that God will generously give so much more than you could ever give up! He will replace your dusty "old" with His miraculous "new"! What used to bring comfort in days gone by, He will replace instantly with His vibrant plans that will strengthen you with power, courage and destiny!
God's "new" can spring forth in an instant of time but this only happens when one becomes a willing participant in God's process of restructuring and renovation.
It is time to completely bury those things that used to work ... those systems that were formerly in fashion ... those habits that have now lost their power.
It's time to make a list of the "old" that is required to be sacrificed in order to make room for God's highest and best in life. Ask God to clearly reveal the things that must be relinquished from your past. He will show you ... I guarantee it! He has just been waiting for you to ask Him!
After you have chronicled your list of antiquated systems, relationships and mindsets, throw it in the trash! Get rid of it as quickly as possible! Literally throw it in the trash!
It's time!
And then the power will begin! You will be set free to dream with God and to hear His voice! Spend time on your knees in heartfelt and reverent prayer. Ask God to speak to you today as never before. Be more aware of His voice than you are of the echoes of the canyons of yesterday.
Ask God if He would birth something new in you this year that would make a profound difference for all of eternity!
He can do it! After all ... He is the God who loves to make all things new!
